What is LDN Brunch Club?
Formed in the summer of 2014, the LDN Brunch Club community offers support and encouragement to its runners from across London. The team of England Athletics qualified running coaches, run leaders and volunteer pacers devise training plans for upcoming races, plot safe and fun running routes, bring together and motivate runners each week in their weekly group runs.
Unique to LDN Brunch Club, each weekly Sunday long run finishes with brunch at a different café or restaurant. This provides a great informal opportunity for members to socialise and the brunch a well-earned reward after the run.
The group explore the city of London, with routes often taking in some of the touristy sights like the Tower of London, the Olympic Park and Houses of Parliament. They also venture off the beaten track around leafy Hampstead Heath or roam with the deer in Richmond Park.
Who can run and are beginners welcome?
The club is all inclusive and aims to cater for all running abilities but is specifically focused on supporting runners training for longer distances races (half marathon and marathons). Membership is made up of a diverse group people from all walks of life – from creatives, engineers and architects to investment bankers and teachers. We have three pace groups each week ranging from around 5min/km to 6:30min/km.
How do I join?
With capacity for our post-run brunch a limiting factor we are not currently able to offer new membership to anyone wanting to join our Sunday long runs.
However any “Run & Brunch” or “Yoga for Runners” sessions we host are both open to non-members so there are still plenty of ways to train with us on a fairly regular basis.
If you’d like to be the first to hear about any opportunities to join us or train with us, follow us on instagram (@ldnbrunchclub) or twitter (@ldnbrunchclub_) or click here to join our mailing list.
