At this time of year, it’s hard not to look back and reflect as we start both a new year and a new decade. For us, it also marks a significant milestone, as we round off five years of LDN Brunch Club. During this time, we’ve celebrated hundreds of our members completing marathon and half marathon races around the world, co-created dozens of strength and fitness sessions for our runners, launched an Ekiden relay race series across London and even hosted a guest speaker event to celebrate female empowerment on International Women’s Day. However, week on week, the fundamentals of the group have remained and our Sunday long run and brunch ritual is still at the core of LDN Brunch Club’s offering as a way to allow our members to run and refuel but also to socialise as a group.

Although we’re very much focused on the training journey and the running, we are first and foremost a community. We bring people from different backgrounds, professions, ethnicities and religions together through a shared passion to train for running. So It’s important for us to build a supportive network of people who actively encourage each other no matter where they are from or what their running ability/background is. We don’t really care how fast members run, we care more about why they run.

As is the nature of any community or group, many things change and faces come and gone over the years, but our hope for everyone who joins us, is that they make new friendships and feel supported to achieve their personal running goals, whatever they may be.

So, as we start 2020 and our sixth year, we already have lots planned for the months ahead and are excited to welcome our new members (and welcome back our existing members) for season 11! Our first Sunday long run will kick off in a couple of weeks’ time, so watch this space for more crew adventures…
